This five-volume work on the galleon trade follows the publication of a two- volume bibliography, Sources on the Manila Galleon from the Archivo General de la Nacion of Mexico, in 2013. The sources selected, transcribed, translated, annotated and introduced in this series, Galleons and Social Control in the Spanish Empire, were all taken from those included in the published bibliography. Published by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines for the 450th anniversary of the beginning and the 250th anniversary of the end of the galleon trade.
